Should we bench Stevie G?

Trying too hard
Why would you? He single-handedly Liverpool FC against Hull with 2 goals. He is one of the best midfielders in the world. He is the captain of the team and the inspiration of Liverpool FC. No, we shouldn’t bench him against Arsenal for sure, but why not rest him a little and get him pumped up again. He is tired and too eager. His dominance on the pitch is distracting to other players, when he is not on top of his game. Sure, he can score clutch goals and save the day. But if we are going to win the Premiership, we need to be winning games against the likes of Stoke (after the ManU game), Fulham, West Ham, and Hull. I was beating myself with frustration in the Tottenham and West Ham game. Hey, I stayed up and watched the West Ham game at 4am (yes, I am in Asia).
Torres actually has the same effect when not playing well. Everyone is trying to pick him out and loses their own desire to go forward or go for goal. I wish Babel could play more….he could go on a tear. We need to play the wings and stretch the lesser opponents. If you look at how Chelsea plays (yes, they have their own home form problems), but they pass the ball well from side to side. They also let lesser opposition to come out when they couldn’t break them down. Liverpool just keep plucking at it and it is no way to break down a stubborn defence.
With a little more class and that comes with playing smart, Liverpool FC will go all the way this year. Am I bias, hell yes…I am a Liverpool Fan!
